Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Her family was home-schooled by her mom in the USA. Raised with racial insults, she was being made to feel unwelcome. It was in her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence after receiving a rousing ovation at an audition. It not only boosted her confidence but altered the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail were both major breakthroughs. The character in The Lad of The Lake is her most memorable breakthrough, bringing her the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her role. In the year following, she joined the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. She is also a known artist and released an extended play. She is an activist who strives to promote LGBT equality.
