Zoe-perry
Perry is born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago in Illinois. She was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first TV roles included two episodes as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mother. Perry was forbidden to perform with her parents till she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the stress it would cause. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. However, she began performing as a means to make friends during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry began her career as an actress in New York after graduation, landing minor roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry come back to California and find work as an actress in the theater. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom on Broadway in 2013 The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie with her in 2015. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. The same year her character was cast a young character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen version of her mother's role. The role was offered to her by auditioning for an open role despite being a fan of this persona.
